Stay Out Of The Dental Danger Zone

Stay Out Of The Alexandria Dental Danger Zone

You would never consider running a red light on a busy street or crossing over a lane of orange traffic cones on the freeway. But a word of caution from the Center for Dental Anesthesia in Alexandria: you might be doing some everyday things that are dangerous for your oral health.

  • In this post, we’ll share some common habits that could be bad for the health of your teeth.Crunching ice between your teeth might be refreshing, but it can be harmful to the soft tissue inside your mouth. Once this tissue gets irritated, you’re more likely to get toothaches and have increased sensitivity to hot or cold foods.
  • Playing sports without mouth protection is a risk that no one should take. If there is a chance that a mouth injury could take place (and there is with most sports) then get to the nearest sporting goods store and pick up a mouth guard or, better yet, ask us about a custom mouthguard.
  • Teeth are not tools! Using them to open anything is a bad idea.

Now that you know to avoid these risks, what can you do if your teeth are already damaged? Make an appointment and we’ll see how we can help.

At The Center for Dental Anesthesia in Alexandria, we want all our patients to play it safe with their teeth! Our services include family and restorative dentistry. Call to schedule an appointment with us today!
